December 13th 1995 marked the birth of McDonald’s Qatar in Al Suhaim Bin Hamad Street, the world’s number one family restaurant was the first of it’s kind to open in the area providing residents, offices, schools and motorists their first great taste of the world famous McDonald’s hamburgers. The restaurant provides a drive-thru service, a play place area and a private party room.

McDonald’s Qatar went up-town when it opened its second restaurant located in the city of Rayyan, (one of country’s major cities). McDonald’s Rayyan has become a landmark in the area being the first fast food restaurant ever built with a play area facility and provides the convenience of a carhop ordering system to its customers.

On its third year, Almana Restauarant & Food Co. became part in what has been a major leap in Qatar’s Shopping concept when it joined the opening of The Mall (first mall in Qatar). The Mall houses some of the leading brands in fashion, electronics, jeweler, food including the world’s number one - McDonald’s.

To further its effort in providing better service and offer convenience to customers, McDonald’s Qatar opened another restaurant located right at the heart of the city. McDonald’s Airport branch brings the fastest growing family restaurant to a total of four stores in 1998. McDonald’s Airport branch features the largest play place equipment with the latest features, a party area and a drive-thru facility that promises total customer satisfaction.

McDonald’s continues to grow but stays in touch with local culture, traditions and practices. In 1999 McDonald’s opened its 5th store located at the Old Souq. McDonald’s stood humble and proud joining the stretch of local shops, retailers, and traders in this commercial part of the city where “bartering” still is the game of shopping.

Qatar’s rapid progress and development in general, has inspired the company to grow and look for opportunities to provide better service and cope with the even growing and more demanding market. McDonald’s grew to six stores in 2000 with the opening of its branch at Markhiya. The restaurant caters mostly to families resident to the area. The family section, private party area and the play place facility have been a favorite spot to families with children especially during the weekends. The restaurant’s drive-thru provides the most convenient access to motorist rushing to office or home.

McDonald’s is always on the list when it comes to world-class break through, In 2000, McDonald’s Qatar joined the ranks of internationally known brands home to The Landmark Mall, Qatar’s second biggest shopping mall. Located at the food court, beside the cinema, McDonald’s Landmark operates 6 registers to ensure the fastest service a busy shopper deserves.

McDonald’s Qatar’s growth is but a result of the company’s gratitude towards its customers in Qatar. It’ll continue to provide and adopt better ways to further enhance its service and offer only the best to its customers. It’ll move to places to get closer to its valued customers and whenever there’s fun, McDonald’s is sure to be there.

In 2003, McDonald’s 8th branch opened at the largest mall in the city, the city center. It is located in the food court of the shopping center which boost of a wide variety of shops and retail stores.

Early 2006, the 9th outlet opened at the first floor of the centerpoint mall ( Al Asmakh ). The branch has a stylish dine-in facility as well as an outdoor seating. The mall is home to the variety of elegant shops which is famous in Qatar.

Due to the unwavering commitment to it’s loyal customers, on March 2007 McDonald’s Qatar gave birth to it’s 10th store located inside the food court of the newly-built Villagio Mall. The mall has an state-of-the-art indoor decorations and ambience that also houses internationally-known brands and shops and the biggest retail store in Qatar.

Shortly two months after, on may 2007, Qatar saw the rise of McDonald’s Ras Abu Aboud. The 11th store of McDonald’s Qatar is a two-level store which offers a dine-in, take-out, and a party area. It is located in one of the main roads of the city, thereby creating a car hop facility for its customers.

McDonald’s Qatar continues to grow and that is why on October 2007, the second store in AlRayyan ( which is the 12th store of McDonald’s Qatar ) was opened. This store is a dine-in and take-out store with a drive-thru to complete the loyal customer’s experience.
A milestone was reached when the 13th store of McDonald’s Qatar opened on May 2008 at the outskirts of the city which is Dukhan. Its’ facilities included dine-in, take-out, drive-thru and party area with a playplace.

Due to the insistent customer’s demand, McDonald’s Delivery Service was also introduced March 2008, initially offered at AlSadd area only and now also being done by Airport, Ras Abu Aboud and Rayyan2 branches. Before end of the year 2008, more stores will also adopt the McDonald’s Delivery Service and another store will be opening at AlMana Petrol station at Salwa road.
