McDonald's Chicken McWings are making a comeback - due to popular demand from fans of the succulent chicken snack, they will once again be available on the menu for a limited period of time in both four- and 10-wing portions. When McDonald's first launched Chicken McWings as a promotional, limited-period offer in 2010, customers flocked to stores to experience the succulent chicken snack. Made from tender, halal meat, Chicken McWings are seasoned with spicy onion, garlic and pepper, cooked until crispy and golden, and served hot with a selection of delicious dipping sauces. "Chicken McWings made a sensational splash when we launched them as a special promotion in 2010. We've since been inundated with requests to bring them back to the menu. McDonald's is dedicated to giving our customers complete satisfaction with the taste that they love, which is why we've listened to their requests and brought Chicken McWings back for them," said Rafic Fakih, Managing Director, McDonald's. By expanding the offerings on its chicken menu, McDonald's is recognising the preferences of its expansive customer base and catering to their taste requirements, while introducing exciting products that satisfy their desire for the delicious experience that the restaurant is synonymous with. Successful McDonald’s UAE and Beit Al Khair Book Campaign Gives UAE Orphans a Chance to Receive an Education

Highlighting its dedication to children's education, McDonald's UAE partnered once again with Beit Al Khair Society for a charity campaign aimed at educating orphans this Ramadan, raising a total of AED 200,000. The campaign encouraged McDonald's customers to buy specially created children's books that were developed by McDonald's UAE. A series of four books based on different topics related to Ramadan were sold for AED 5 at McDonald's restaurants across the UAE during the months of August and September. All proceeds accumulated were donated to Beit Al Khair Society. Mr. Rafic Fakih, Managing Director, McDonald's UAE commented, "We are very pleased with the results of this book campaign. We are happy to see that our customers across the UAE have contributed to the charity campaign. Not only does this benefit the orphans at the Beit Al Khair society but it also benefits the children reading the books as they learn about relevant themes such as the importance of charity and fasting. McDonald's UAE is proud of this longstanding campaign and hopes to renew it in the years to come." McDonald’s UAE Staff Showcase their Talents at the Stars of McDonald’s Competition

Dubai, UAE, August 2011: Ann Christine Alcido and Eric Pasamonte, the dancing pair, wowed the judges with their dance routine and were voted Grand Champions of the Stars of McDonald's UAE competition. Highlighting its dedication to boosting employee engagement, the Stars of McDonald's competition offers its staff an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents ranging from singing and dancing to playing instruments. As part of the 2011 regional Stars of McDonald's competition, McDonald's UAE encouraged all restaurant staff from store management to crew to participate. The UAE grand champions, Ann and Eric, will be McDonald's UAE's entry to the regional Stars of McDonald's finals which will be held during the month of October in Dubai. They will be competing against other Stars of McDonald's winners from around the region for a grand prize of $10,000.  More

McDonald’s UAE announces long-term partnership with UAE Athletics Federation to support and organize “McDonald’s Olympic Day Run”

Continuing with the success of the McDonald's Olympic Day Run, McDonald's UAE is now proud to announce it has signed a long-term deal with the UAE Athletic Federation, which has pledged its support for the next 3 years, beginning with this year's event taking place on 8th April 2011 in Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai. The Aim of McDonald's Olympic Day Run is to promote physical activities amongst both children and adults in the UAE, and this is the second year that McDonald's has proudly received the support of UAE Ministry of Education and the UAE Interschool Association as well as the UAE National Olympic Committee, who share McDonald's vision to promote exercise amongst children. Commenting on the announcement, Rafic Fakih, Managing Director and Partner of McDonald's UAE said: "We are very proud to announce this long-term partnership with the UAE Athletic Federation with the support of the Ministry of Education, UAE Interschool Association and the National Olympic Committee, who share our passion for supporting community events and encouraging exercise amongst children. This year's McDonald's Olympic Day Run is our biggest yet, and we look forward to welcoming both children and adults to participate and help make this a fun way to get fit in the UAE for years to come." With the partnerships now in place, McDonald's UAE has revealed the date and details of the 2011 McDonald's Olympic Day Run, which will take place on Friday 8th April, at Al Mamzar Beach, Dubai. This year, there will be three races, giving UAE residents aged eleven and upwards the chance to participate and have fun as they get fit - races are separated by age groups and distance, beginning at the following times: 11-13 years (2.5 KM) race starts at 2:30 PM 14-15 years (3.0 KM) race starts at 3:00 PM 16 years and above (3.4 KM) race starts at 3:20PM Registration for the McDonald's Olympic Day Run is easy - simply visit any one of McDonald's 87 stores in the UAE from now until till 4th of April. A special 'race kit' will be provided to each participant, and can be collected on the day of the event between 11:00AM and 1:30 PM at the race location. Students at UAE schools will also be invited to participate via the Interschool Sports Association who will collect their registration forms and also give out race kits.  More

Big Mac from McDonald’s scores number one position in the GCC - Menu Item Affinity Index

The world's most renowned burger, the Big Mac from McDonald's, has now been confirmed as the region's favourite menu item, scoring the number one position in local market research company Market-i's recent Menu Item Affinity Index. Additionally, McDonald's has launched two exciting competitions, on www.mcdonaldsarabia.com, inviting people to submit their favourite Big Mac story for a chance to win a MacBook Air, or submit their version of the Big Mac chant by audio or video for a chance to win an iPod Touch. All entries are posted online and the most voted entries will be the ones to win. "It's not surprising that this famous burger has the same success in the Middle East as it has in every other market!
